The Story of The butterfly effect
For the magazine's 93rd anniversary cover, I was invited to reinterpret Eustace Tilley, the iconic dandy who appeared on the magazine’s very first cover in 1925.
Almost a century later, I imagined Tilley as a New York woman, dressed in the original dandy’s attire, monocle in hand. I wanted to preserve the poise of Rea Irvin’s original while reflecting the New York of today, a city whose identity has always been shaped by the people who inhabit it.
