The Story of Taking flight
Created for The New Yorker’s centenary and its special issue celebrating stories from around the world, Taking Flight is my second reinterpretation of Eustace Tilley, the magazine’s iconic dandy, first drawn by Rea Irvin in 1925.
A century later, a new face emerges beneath a blue veil, her gaze following a butterfly in flight. A cover exploring diversity, cultural codes and the shifting place of women in the world.
